‘For weeks I have been working on the same piece of marble and I am not tired of it yet! For me stone sculpting is a welcome distraction from my hectic everyday life and it offers me the opportunity to create a three-dimensional form. Studying the stone is a unique experience and is exciting and unusual. Here I am aware that I am slowing down, becoming enthusiastic, and at the same time I am surprised how quickly the shape of the stone changes through my work. At the Scuola di Scultura di Peccia I am developing my practical skills, my technical abilities and aesthetical appreciation under the professional guidance of competent course tutors. Every day I am learning something new about myself and I am letting myself be spoilt by the ‘Cucina Ticinese’ (local cuisine), preferably in the company of my ever helpful and cheerful colleagues on the course.’

Hansulrich Beer

Sculptor/calligrapher. Born in 1949. Lucerne School of Design. Trained as a sculptor. Tutor at the Scuola di Scultura since 1998.

LETO/Markus Meyle

Freelance artist, sculptor, and fireworks expert. Has worked at the Scuola di Scultura since 2008.

Margrit Leuthold

Freelance sculptor with own workshop. Tutor at the Scuola di Scultura since 1991.

Nick Micros

Freelance sculptor with own studio in Ottenbach. Has been a tutor at the Scuola di Scultura since 2002.

René Staub

Is a staff member of the Art Foundry. Area of experience and interest: silicone mould making and casting techniques. He teaches figurative sculptural design.

Roland Hotz

Freelance artist and sculptor with own studio. Has given various courses at the Scuola di Scultura in Peccia since 1991.

Vaclav Elias

Freischaffender Gestalter im Bereich Werbung, Theater und Innendekoration.

Werner Naef

Sculptor with own studio workshop. Has been tutoring at the Scuola di Scultura in Peccia since 2005.

Zdenek Roudnicky

Freelance sculptor and restorer. Tutor at the Scuola di Scultura since 2006.
