LETO/Markus Meyle

Freelance artist, sculptor, and fireworks expert. Has worked at the Scuola di Scultura since 2008.

Born 1972 in Uster ZH. Apprenticeship in plumbing from 1988-92. Since 1992 Leto has worked as a freelance artist. He welds figures using mainly scrap iron. In 1995 his large-scale rhinoceros was installed on a roundabout in Uster. From 1996-2004 he was the initiator and manager of the art adventure playground "Serafins Garten" in Uster.
In 2001 he participated in the International Snow Sculptures Festival in St. Moritz. Since 2000 he has taken part in the Annual International Wood Sculptor Symposium in Sur, EN. He continually explores new working techniques. He is a fireworks enthusiast who sets his own wood sculptures alight in firework displays. Apart from wood figures he creates woodblock prints, linocuts, sheet metal reliefs and inflatable figures. Casting is another one of his working techniques.
Since 2008 he has been involved with the Scuola di Scultura.
