The Scuola di Scultura in Peccia has an exceptionally extensive reference library with around 2,000 volumes. The collection includes specialist literature on sculpture, drawing and three-dimensional art, art history, architecture, philosophy, material studies, as well as numerous artist monographs and thematic surveys.
The library reflects the Scuola di Scultura’s commitment to combining hands-on artistic practice with theoretical depth. It is conceived as a place for reflection, comparison and inspiration – a quiet counterpoint to practical work in the studio and a valuable complement to individual artistic processes.
Thanks to the great dedication of Doris Kuhn and several committed helpers, who have reviewed, organised and systematised this extensive collection, the library is now available to our guests, course participants and course leaders as an easily accessible reference library.
The books may be used on site during courses and stays. They support internal educational dialogue, encourage exchange between participants and instructors, and open perspectives on broader artistic and theoretical questions.
A complete list of the current books can be found in the attached PDF.
