Experimental Print Workshop

Experimental printmaking thrives on tension, experimentation and chance. In this course, participants explore and combine a variety of experimental printing techniques. They discover the many possibilities of printing without the need for a professional printing press.

Stencils, cardboard, packaging materials, everyday objects and natural found materials are used alongside plastic plates to create individual printing surfaces. In addition to classic techniques such as linocut and the unique results of monotype — where each print remains a one-of-a-kind piece — participants will also create their own screens.

Hand screen printing opens up further exciting creative possibilities. The interplay between planning and chance makes the printing process lively and surprising, repeatedly leading to new and unexpected visual worlds.
