The technique of wax modeling is very fresh and immediate, the material is easy to work with. During the course you will get to know the many possibilities of this technique and various tricks. The topic of one's own work is chosen freely and the course tutor will give you individual creative and technical guidance.
The direct modeling in wax allows the realization of a free form or figure that can be cast faster and cheaper in bronze without much effort. At the end of the course, the model will be delivered to the foundry for lost wax casting. We will work with the Perseo foundry in Mendrisio. Sometime during the course we will have an excursion to this foundry where we will be given a guided tour.
Aim of the course:
That you will have one or more sculptures to take to the foundry at the end of the course and that you will have learned the technique to work autonomously. You will receive information on various modalities and tricks with many examples by contemporary artists. You will receive a summary of the most important information to take home with you.
The course language is Italian, but the tutor also speaks English and Spanish.
